Hand made one of a kind chairs.

Kisu

Kisu started out as a student project that I began in college. The goal of the project was to take inspiration from a famous designer in history and take it further. It was originally inspired by George Nakashima’s work. This chair looked quite a bit different when I was in college. After I graduated I packed up my life and moved this piece with me to California where I would be working as a full time furniture maker. Lots of improvements were made to it. I added ergonomic seat curves, decorative edge carving, back supports, & and an ottoman. This improved the chairs comfortability, aesthetics, and structure. I chose to finish it with a natural Odies penetrating oil and a mineral oil beeswax top coat. I am pleased to say after all that the chair has finally found a good home in Nevada City California.
